ABOUT US
At the base of Grandfather Mountain, the McKeon family—Matt, his wife (a local doctor), and their three children—live and work among the rows of their highbush blueberry farm. This is the heart of Wood Valley Farm & Furniture, a family-run operation where agriculture meets artisanal craft. Both farming and woodworking share a deep history in our North Carolina mountain community, and our life is a tribute to that legacy. For ten years, Matt has crafted custom, hand-made furniture that reflects this connection to the land. Our work is about honoring the story already written in the grain while having the vision to craft a new chapter for our family and yours.
You-Pick Blueberries
There is something special about a mountain harvest. Our you-pick blueberry operation is designed for families to enjoy the beauty of the farm while giving back to our neighbors.
Hours & Season: Open daily (8am–8pm) from late June through early August. Because our harvest depends on the weather, please check our Instagram or Facebook for current picking conditions.
Picking with Purpose: 100% of blueberry sales go directly to support local hunger relief through Feeding Avery Families and Ave Maria Ministries. We provide the buckets; you provide the help for our community. (You-pick only; no pre-picked sales available).

We are proud to carry forward North Carolina’s rich furniture-making legacy with a genuine passion for the craft. By pairing hand-selected materials with time-honored joinery, we honor the history of the wood while crafting a functional legacy for your home. Every piece reflects our commitment to craftsmanship with integrity.
We put as much care into our furniture as you put into your home. Our goal is to help you realize your vision through a custom craft that balances beauty and utility. Our workshop is equipped to handle full-room suites and individual statement pieces, including:

Our 3,000-square-foot workshop sits alongside our highbush blueberries, where farm rhythms meet the daily focus of the woodshop. This professional facility allows us to combine boutique artistry with the scale required for complex projects. Today, Wood Valley serves as the primary production headquarters for Raleigh Furniture Company, founded by Matt in 2015.
